Just finished a couple more swaps - pot holders are on their way to Kirsten in USA (she likes olive/tan).  Had some more aboriginal dot print fabric that was the right colour combo.  Hope she likes them!  My first trial using Thermolam (insulated batting).

Also made a pin cushion that is on its way to Pike in Finland!  Hope mine is up to scratch.  Pike does beautiful cross stitch so fingers crossed (pun) she will send me something lovely!  Some purists would argue that machine embroidery is cheating but I'm pleased with the result - a nouveau kangaroo.  I did hand stitch a line of chain stitch around the seams to neaten it off.  It's starting to look like I only have the aboriginal dot print fabrics in my stash - not quite true - just seems a good opportunity to promote our Aussie icons internationally when the opportunity arises.

  1. Can't wait to get my hands on that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!The bestest :)

Thank you for your kind words, but I sent my pin cushion to someone else... But I'll send you an email and we'll arrange a private swap, right?

  2. Nice idea to send the Aussie version in your swaps
    They look good
I wish I had bought myself an embriodery machine I like what you do with it
    One day!!!!!!!!!
